This is the annual event of the Webflow'sphere. The Webflow Conf. To follow the Webflow Conf 2022 live, two formats are available:

This year, the Digidop team chose to follow the conference remotely, in streaming. And here is the summary of the key points that were discussed during this first day:

The Webflow 2022 Keynote

What an introduction!

After a great introductory video, covering the history of web development (front-end and back-end) since the 90s .... the relay is given to Vlac, Co-founder & CEO of Webflow.

Vlad continues with a nice storytelling about the vision and history of webflow since its beginnings (10 years ago now!).

Then, introduced, the 3 major themes that will be on the agenda.

1. Superpower development (create more!)

New UI : Component

It's official, symbols become components, (like Figma? ) and have new superpowers. For example, it is now possible with components to :

• Customize the texts of your symbols,
• Integrate dynamic data(CMS) inside the components,
• Add conditional visibilities,

Font Variation : Beta

A new feature available directly from the designer interface: Font Variation.

This feature, natively integrated to your Webflow designer, allows you to customize the visual parameters of a font, such as its "weight", in one click.

No need to download and integrate the whole family.

Multi-language CMS

Ooh. This one is important!!! Webflow releases a native functionality to transform your site, into a multilingual site. It is now possible, without additional tools to :

• Create pages with country-specific URLs,
• Customize the title and meta descriptions of your website pages by country,
• Adjust the ALT image tags on each version of your site,
• Connect the API of a translation software

It's time ! The webflow apple store is born. Webflow officializes the release of its extension application store, designed specifically for webflow.

• Plugin integration

The advantage vs Wordpress plugins is obvious: the available applications will be checked and verified by Webflow. This will avoid any security issue, exactly like the Apple Store 😉

This feature opens up many opportunities:

• It will be easier to create Webflow sites for beginners,
• You can launch a (side?) component business for Webflow,
• You can develop faster directly from the interface.

A database of resources on the webflow API to help and share as much information as possible with developers to go even further in the creation of sites on webflow. Together.
