Using Weglot for your website step by step

1 - Create a Weglot account

Click on the free trial button
Fill in the form (e-mail and password)
Click on "create an account".
Validate your account by confirming your email ( No emails? Check your spam folder)

2 - Creating a project

Give it a name, for example: The site of Digidop
Choose your website technology: Webflow
Click on : Next

3 - DNS or Javascprit settings

Choose one of the two Weglot translation options (DNS or Javascript)

3-1 With DNS settings ( SEO friendly 🙂 )

Enter your domain url, example : digidop.fr
The original language of your website, for example: French
The language(s) of destination, e.g. English, Spanish, German.
Add DNS in your domain name settings (GoDaddy, OVH, GoogleMydomains, etc.)
What for? To create sub-domains of your site translated into different languages. This allows you to translate your site while optimising multilingual referencing
CNAME record : websites.weglot.com
Testing your settings ✅
Copiez-coller le code dans votre "custom code" dans la partie "End of the <head tag>" Voir les paramètres settings du cms (Webflow/Wix/Wordpress)
⚠️ Attention ⚠️ don't forget to personalise your API key: WG_123456789 to be replaced

3-2 With Javascript publish on webflow.io (we advise it when your site is in development/test phase)

Click on the Javasprit integration button
Choose the translation languages
Copy and paste the code into your custom code (⚠️ Customize your API key )
Qualify your site with the 3 additional parameters and click on : Go to my translations.

4 - Activate automatic translation according to your user's language settings

Automatically redirect visitors to your site based on their language settings. (An English visitor will have the "EN" version of your site automatically). You just have to activate the auto-switch. 3 clicks to access the page:
