How to create Webflow links with the editor mode?

Creating a link from one page to another is a basic functionality, essential to make a site work. Beyond the simple fact of being able to move from one page to another, a link is a way to enrich your internal mesh and optimize your SEO. Links are not only URLs to pages, but they can also be email addresses, phone numbers or even page sections. Once again, Webflow has thought of everything and provides us with a "URL" feature, which allows us to optimize each of them.

Link to an external URL

To link to an external URL, you will simply need the URL in question. If you want to embed a link on a button, look for the "🔗" icon on the button. Click on the icon and add the URL directly. Click on the "✔️" notch to save your change.

If you want to add an external link to a text, select the text in question and proceed in the same way.

Link to a page on your site

To link to a page on your site we recommend that you use the "page" function and not the URL. This is much better for your SEO, because the day you have to change the URL of a page you won't have to change every link and anchor you have created. More concretely, if you want to avoid 404s, use this feature and don't insert URLs for pages on your site.

Link to call a telephone number

Webflow's phone link functionality allows a user who wishes to contact you to directly click on the phone number to initiate the call. Simplify the user journey by using this phone link functionality. To access it, proceed in the same way as for adding a link and click on the phone icon "📞"

Link to send an email

On the same principle as the phone number links, the email links allow you to create a new email with the email address directly filled in. This also simplifies the user path of your visitors and increases the conversion rate of your Webflow site. To add an email, proceed in the same way as for adding a link and click on the email icon "✉️".

Link to send to a section of your site

Sometimes you will need to link to a specific section of your site and Webflow has it covered! A special feature allows you to create links to sections of a page, you just have to select the right section. Make the link open on a new page
